Pairings
Rounds 1 & 2
Tentative pairings for the first two rounds for both the Varsity and Open divisions will be announced one day before the tournament. Revisions will be posted on this Live Document and online at: www.minneapple.info.
Sides and pairings will be randomly assigned with the following constraints:
Teams from the same school will not face one another, matchups between schools from the same MSBA region will be avoided (to the extent possible), and teams will switch sides between rounds.
Round 3
Tentative Round 3 pairings for the Open Division will be announced one day before the tournament. Round 3 pairings for the Varsity Division will be power-ranked and announced as close to 2:15 PM as possible. See www.minneapple.info/rules for further details on pairing/ranking methodology.
Awards
Exemplary Performance awards for students will be announced by the presiding judge in the room at the end of each round. Team awards will take place in the theatre after round 3. The top 10 teams from both divisions will be announced. The top 3 teams in the varsity division will earn trophies.
Printing
There will be no access to printing at AVHS. Please bring everything needed with you to the tournament.
Ballots/Results
Each coach will receive an email with a link and PIN to access their ballots and comment sheets online. During the tournament, current standings can be viewed at: https://www.minneapple.info/results. Scoresheets will only be accessible for teams that have paid entry fees.
Courtroom Artists
If you have a courtroom artist, they are welcome to participate at the Minneapple! Schools are allowed to bring as many courtroom artists as desired. Artists can draw in any round in which a team from their school is participating. Artists will be responsible for asking the presiding judge where to be positioned to draw during the round. Artists can draw as many drawings as desired, but can only submit one to the tab room for judging. The tab room will select one drawing as the “Champion” (if more than 10 entries, the top 3 will be selected). Any winners will receive an exemplary performance award ribbon. Please send me an email if your team will be entering an artist!
